We went out last night to cool off since the temperature went up little bit, we decided to go to the ice cream store and buy some ice cream. My husband went inside alone while I waited in the truck, when he came back he surprised me with a rose. That makes my day :-)

The life and time of a maintenance man

Posted by Malou at 7/10/2008 08:42:00 PM 1 comments
It's H O R R I B L E! 24 hours a day 7 days a week on call all the time. People are either too hot and their AC doesn't work well they think or they are too cold. My heat doesn't work right...whine whine whine they think every little thing is a responsibility of a maintenance men, they lie all the time about how things that they broke they didn't break, they dump oil down their drain when they are not suppose to. Clog their drain and then expect u to come out at 3 in the morning to unclog their drain that they clog. Some apartment have two toilets and still people do not buy their own personal plunger..horrible. They bitch about the grass bitch about dust in the hallway they get mold in their bathroom because they don't clean it and then they bitch about the mold that occurs from them not cleaning their own bathroom. Some young kids that rent apartments you just like to slap their parents that never taught them how to run a thermostat or clean a stove its scary of how much ignorance there is in our younger generation God forbid 50 years from now...

Tale of the two fish

One day our family was fishing on the shores just taking time and not caring if the fishes would bite on the lure or not. My husband is only a few feet away from me and few minutes later of sitting there he caught a good size sun fish. We put it in a bucket with water while Jarred was keenly watching the colorful fish scared to touch it. We waited little bit. Since it's gonna be dark soon I throw my fishing pole once again into the water when I saw a dark fish just lazily swimming at the bottom then I carefully move my bait to its mouth but to my dismay the fish just stared on it and didn't even care for the lure so I was tempted to get the lure more closer to it's mouth then finally the fish take it in its mouth, I jumped up so quickly and pulled my fishing pole out of the water screaming "daddy daddy help i caught a fish" the guys on the other end said "don't lose it" so I'm still holding the fishing pole while the fish is on the air fighting for his life. My husband helped me to get the bait out of its mouth. It's a darn good size bull head about 14 inches long. Later on the fishes were on the table for lunch cooked nicely. My husband didn't care for it so I ate it all. Poor fish...lol!

We had a wonderful dinner tonight at my parent-in-law's house. After we're done working on the property me and my husband decided to buy some cooked barbeque chicken to bring with us when we visit my parent0-in-law. While at the property I also cooked their favorite macaroni salad with pineapple tidbits. I also cooked salted potato and sliced cantelope for desert. At 5 pm we were at my parent-in-law enjoying the food on the table. Yummy!

I AM THANKFUL:

FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS HE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH..

FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS
I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

catching up with chores

Posted by Malou at 7/07/2008 12:21:00 PM 1 comments
About 8 o'clock in the morning when I started cutting the tall grass growing in our backyard by using the weed-whacker a powered handheld device that uses a flexible mono filament line instead of a blade for cutting grass. We have a gas powered weed-whacker and an electric weed-whacker but I preferred the last since it is more tolerable when it comes to noise. Almost noon when I get done since I have to make sure Jarred is okay on one corner playing while I trim the grass around the house. After all is done outside we decided to go back inside the house since the heat started to burn our skin, about 85 degrees temperature. I started the fire on the stove to cook our lunch while cleaning the house on the same time. These things I overlook when we went out on vacation for 3 days, finally I get to relax at 2 pm and Jarred snoring on the couch.
