A bonfire in winter

Posted by Malou at 2/07/2009 10:56:00 PM 2 comments
Daddy and Maddy picked up Joele from her house this morning to have a sleep over to our house and to play with Maddy who missed her little playmate so much. They played on the snow all day and when they get back inside the house, Daddy said he had a surprise for mommy and Jarred and promised that we will go out again when it gets dark.
The temperature went up to 40 degrees and the snow was packed where it is ideal to go sliding. So we went out later after we ate supper. To my surprise daddy built a bonfire after the kids helped picking up the burning woods earlier. This is how we looked like outdoors having a bonfire. It's so much fun sliding down the hill while having a bonfire. We said all was missing is a marshmallow.

Here comes Daddy with Jarred and

Maddy sliding down the hill. Joele got chickened out no matter how much we encouraged her to go sliding with us she doesn't want to do it and decided to keep Jarred company. This is a good picture of them together.

Flowering trees

My step daughter gave us a lilac tree last spring and we planted it on the side of our house. They're doing well and I think the shade helped the plant to develop vigorously and have beautiful flowers in them. I loved the smell of its flowers. Since we don't have much Flowering trees in our yard, we thought of starting to look for some nice flowering trees on spring that we could plant and grow on our sandy yard to enhance the beauty of our surroundings.

Mass Migration of Stingrays

Have you heard the latest? A friend forwarded an email to us. This is an amazing beauty of nature which can't be ignored. I thought I would share this one to you all. Check this out.

Mass Migration of Stingrays

Looking like giant leaves floating in the sea, thousands of Golden Rays are seen here gathering off the coast of Mexico . The spectacular scene was captured as the magnificent creatures made one of their biannual mass migrations to more agreeable waters.
Gliding silently beneath the waves, they turned vast areas of blue water to gold off the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula . Sandra Critelli, an amateur photographer, stumbled across the phenomenon while looking for whale sharks.
She said: 'It was an unreal image, very difficult to describe. The surface of the water was covered by warm and different shades of gold and looked like a bed of autumn leaves gently moved by the wind.

'It's hard to say exactly how many there were, but in the range of a few thousand'

They have long, pointed pectoral fins that separate into two lobes in front of their high-domed heads and give them a cow-like appearance. Despite having poisonous stingers, they are known to be shy and non-threatening when in large schools. The population in the Gulf of Mexico migrates, in schools of as many as 10,000, clockwise from western Florida to the Yucatan .

GPS

Were totally lost! If not from the cell phone that we are carrying we will never reach our destination. My husband constantly called his brother who had invited us over to his new house and gives us directions on where to turn. It almost ruins our trip of not finding his place. We found out that we can't always rely on the map that we printed out from the Internet. I said to my husband, next time we planned a trip we will make sure we have a GPS to make things a lot easier.

Check this out! I don't know about you but I only see this scenario once in my entire life that a snake actually swallowing a frog right in front of my eyes. It's incredible how the snake slowly swallowing the helpless frog as it was trying to free itself from the merciless snake. My eyes were wide open as I investigate what was going on while Daddy hold the snake to its head as he tried to get it out from the snakes mouth. He tried his best not to hurt the frog from freeing it to the very determined snake. Poor frog! It already had twisted legs when finally get him out of the snakes mouth. We put the snake back in the woods and the frog. We just hope the frog will survive and never will meet again with the snake.

Vaginal dryness

It makes you wonder why I posted this kind of topic here. Not all of us are open minded when discussing an issue like this but pardon me if I did post this one. Believe it or not vaginal dryness is already an old issue, a kind of problem to some women whether you like it or not. According to doctors and even advertisements that you can see on TV and magazines there's no need to worry because a solution is already out there. You just need to look and ask the right person.

The wonders of a digital video camera

Wedding anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, thanks giving are only a few of the important occasions on the calendar but I never gave up on making souvenirs of pictures on every occasions. Photography is my passion and I love going back on the pictures I took and remembering the memories it brought on us. Last Christmas my husband gave me a digital video camera. He knew pretty well what makes me happy. I been asking him to get me a new video camera to replace the old one I got that doesn't even gives a high quality resolution that I've been using for years. But now that I have a better one every time we go out I brought it with me so I can take more videos. It's really interesting to download it easily on the computer and share the videos with friends specially my family from another country.

It seem to be a long process. We thought we have all our paper work covered. There's just so many legality of all the paperwork. My fiancé and myself even had our wedding planned all out and we forgot one thing. So we started a search for immigration lawyers and lucky for us they came up with a solution to our problem. We were able to keep our wedding date and finally we're together forever. We should mention now that we have the sweetest little boy together finally the journey is over.

Vacation adventures

Do you want excitement and adventure? For our family, a place that we have been to on our last vacation was the best compared to other vacations that we have. There is something very special at that place that makes us want to go back next year. Aside from spending our week at Darien Lake Campground we liked the attractions with its amusement park rides and many other attractions. There's so much to enjoy. Along with the breathtakingly views that we liked so much is the rides which get us all excited. Everything that we looked forward to on our vacation we found it there. That vacation experience was truly the most wonderful and perfect adventure for us. For those looking for family fun activity that's one of the best place to go.

Electric blanket

I love the feeling when I am floating on the water so we both agreed to replace our old bed with a water bed. It's really great on summer because the temperature of the water bed is just enough to calm down the heat in summer. We came to realize that it's not really great at all to use it in winter. You can feel the cold gets into your bones. We have restless nights over and over again. Then we decided to buy an electric blanket which solved our problem.

Jarred's funny faces

Posted by Malou at 2/02/2009 01:09:00 PM 2 comments
Jarred take his first step seven days before his first birthday. How can I forget when every proud parent always remember their child's accomplishments as they grow up. I even wrote them all down on his baby book. Tons of pictures and videos. Our computer is overflowing with videos which slows down the computer because of the files I have on it. I consider them as treasures and one of these days I'll put them all on CD.

While digging through our files I found this one video. I just love to look at him doing the funny faces. Just can't take back the time. Now he can run, climb, talk a lot and many more that a two and a half year old can do. Anyhow I just wanted to share this video of him taken when he was only one year and four months old.

Incontinence supplies

I'm amazed by how much diapers cost these days. From regular diaper to training pants are still expensive. Buying toddler diapers and pull ups had been lessen when we started training our little boy in a potty training. He doesn't use tons of diapers anymore but incontinence supplies are still necessary especially when we have a long trip. Baby's skin is so sensitive and keeping the diaper area dry will help to protect them away from rashes. I made sure to keep my son's diaper area clean and dry using the most absorbent diapers.

Let's dance to the beat

Most kids I know loved dancing to the beat. When Jarred heard the music from the show on TV "Sid the science kid" where the kids singing and dancing, Jarred would quickly stand up doesn't matter what he was doing he will leave it behind. Oh yeah he'll stop and dance with them. I love it when he do the break dancing on the floor sometimes he would put his feet up on the air.

Who ever heard of the name Oscar de la Renta? In fact he is a famous fashion designer recognized internationally so well known of his brilliant creative designs of exotic collections. His designs are excellent to offer appeals especially to the needs of working women. I like fashion and I envy his collections, it's so overwhelming. It would be nice to own at least one of his precious designs someday.
