Trigger bites

My husband has two separate large aquariums one with calm laid back fish and the other aquarium has trigger fish in it which can bite. Things had been going well for a long time up to the other day my husband came home and one of the trigger fish was almost dead from being beat up by one of the other fish. The problem is he can't figure out who is the culprit.
