Fender acoustic amp

Posted by Malou at 11/20/2014 05:09:00 PM 0 comments
Over the years  we had been changing out some of the old equipment of the band for new. In the past year its been really tough to get together to play in our band  but now that everybody has better schedules it's time to get together and have some fun again. Replacing my old amp for a new fender acoustic amp is kind of hard. The amp that I had for years seems like an old friend  and changing it out  took a little while.

Daisy rock guitar

At least this winter I have a plan to keep my husband and my son busy after Christmas. Some of the presents that I bought them are for outdoor fun. even though it's so cold in New York last year we went out and bought all new winter gear.My husband knows how to play guitar but hasn't played in years so the new daisy rock guitar that I bought my son for Christmas is actually a joint present so my husband can teach my son how to play.

Nothing more valuable than having a friend that knows all the ins and outs of a ukulele. Luckily for all my kids growing up they had me and my husband  to at least give them a basics of playing at least two instruments. The Mahalo U-30 Painted soprano ukulele is very sweet looking my daughter can't wait to get her hands on it. You should read more about it. As a fun note my daughter waited three hours for the delivery man to show up with it.

Cargo liner

My hubby started a little early looking for his new truck. He got a great deal but the only problem was he had to wait five weeks for them to bring in the right color he wanted on it. Even the stereo system he had put in took four hours. The monster tires and rims make the truck after putting a lift kit in that raised it six inches. So cool being that we load our snow mobile in the winter and our four wheeler in the summer. We needed a heavy duty cargo liner to make sure we didn't scratch or dent the rear box of the truck. Things slide in and out. So much better with the protection on the floor. It's almost effortless to get the sled in and out.

Magnetic bracelets

Posted by Malou at 9/01/2014 10:10:00 AM 0 comments
So many great displays at the New York State Fair new things, old things, and lots of great food. I put off for years buying magnetic bracelets but this year was different. On Labor Day it was buy one and get one free. There was so many to choose from that my girlfriend and I spent about half an hour looking at them all. After all the walking it's too bad that someone wouldn't come up with a magnetic insole to take away our tired feet.

Scott Kay

When we first got married times were kind of tough. Struggling to get through school and hold a job for both of us was tough. We knew someday that we we'll make it out of our everyday grind. A lot of the first things that we bought for our house were cheap along with our first pair of wedding bands. So eventually we started replacing a lot of things. Our wedding bands were the first thing that I want to replace but the couch came first. We ended up picking a set from the scott kay collection. Now that made me the happiest of all.

While working unexpectedly down in the Carolina's after a friend called me for help finishing his contract with the main general contractor, took more than what he expected. Trying to take care of payroll by faxing everything back to New York was just too much. I sought the advice from russalleninc.com while we were there for seven months. Next time I told my friend let me know ahead of time when he is taking on such a big project.

NYS State Fair

Another summer draws to a close. As labor day is here the state fair is running the dollar day today where all rides are a $1 for the kids. It such a busy day that it's not worth it going. There are so many people that you just can't move. We had gone earlier this week the rides were a lot of fun and the new and different kinds of food were so delicious.

We thought that updating our equipment would be an easy thing to do. It wasn't easy thing to say. Shopping around to get the best deal of quality sure takes a long time I have over two hundred different web pages in my favorites on the PC concerning our equipment. So far most of the equipment will come from www.musiciansfriend.com. We have three more weeks of practice before we have to be in Toronto for the weekend.

Men's wedding bands

A year from now would be our tenth anniversary and hopefully by then we will be replacing our wedding band. At the moment I'm looking at mens's wedding bands for my husband. He likes wearing his on the job so sometimes it takes a lot of abuse so looking for the right karat and the right thickness is very important so he can get at least ten years out of the new one.

Buy heat shrink

A couple years back my husband bought the Chinese ATV for our son. Now that we are needing parts the exact ones are not available. So my husband wanting to rebuild the ATV has had to cut and adapt in new wiring. The best way to make it waterproof for the outdoors is to heat shrink all the new splicing of the wiring. He found everything and more at www.buyheatshrink.com. It only took him a couple weekends  to redo the complete harness from scratch.

Watch selection

My husband wanted a new watch for Christmas but he just can't make up his mind which watch. With all the watch selection out there it's just like me if I want to buy a pair of shoes to go with my new dress. I usually end up with three pair glad my husband doesn't know that. I hide my new purchases behind the box in the closet that is full of winter clothes so he doesn't see them.

Violin strings at wwbw

Posted by Malou at 3/16/2014 09:11:00 AM 1 comments
It started out very simple. We were out treasure hunting at some yard sales two years ago, this lady had this antique violin. It was in okay shape. The first thing that we needed were violin strings at wwbw. After putting it back together we thought that we would get an estimate on the restoration of the violin. After taking it to two places we decided that we would just use it  as a learning tool before we buy a new one.

Bigger ATV motor

Our son is outgrowing his little four wheeler ATV that we bought him two years ago. It's not so much the size of it its the motor on it. For him even at his age it is very slow after becoming an expert at driving it. So who knows what size we may come up with.

Aquarium

One of the hardest things about aquariums  is that when you want to go bigger one aquarium is in the way of where you want to put your new one so its very complicated to drain one and move one and refill one at the same time.

Creditors rights

Years ago my husband had to file bankruptcy on his business. At the time he was splitting up with his ex wife and as she left she took a lot of the assets. My husband had no alternative but to file bankruptcy. Learning about the creditors rights was one of the first things my husband remembers that the lawyer discussed with him. After a couple times back and forth to court my husband was back trying to built his business again.

Saltwater aquariums are beautiful but to have one of your own is a lot of work. Sometimes its a lot of worry first of take your time and do a lot of reading. Petland also offers courses on how to be your own aquarist.

Winter blues

Posted by Malou at 3/02/2014 08:27:00 AM 0 comments
The snow keeps coming down and the cold is still here in Central New York  just sick of winter and staying inside. It isn't a wonder why most divorces are started in the winter money is tight bills are high and you can't get outdoors to even take decent walk with the cold. Cooped up inside is like cruel and inhuman punishment.

Another day at work

Posted by Malou at 1/28/2014 06:56:00 PM 0 comments
Another hard day at work for me. One of our small boxes of parts spilled over from a chair dumping it into a different box of small parts. Needless to say about an hour later I had them back sorted in their own boxes and  I continued on again with my part of the assembly process.

Entertainment center

Posted by Malou at 1/26/2014 06:19:00 PM 0 comments
My husband's building a new entertainment center for our living room. This time with a little bit of luck it will look like cherry to match our coffee table. It's real hard to get the stain perfect and then when you get the stain perfect it has to be clear coated many times while sanding in between coats.

Cheap employers

Posted by Malou at 1/26/2014 05:26:00 PM 0 comments
It's sure tough out there looking for a skilled trades men's job. The companies out there make a list out of what skills they want you to have and post it online. After talking to a few of the employers my husband couldn't believe how low the hourly rate is for what they want you to do. Some of these experiences collectively are from a lifetime on the job. The employer went on and on about what they wanted and were willing to pay 12 dollars an hour for a job that should start at 19 dollars an hour. The prevailing rate for this job in that area is 20 dollars an hour.

Some plastic handles

Posted by Malou at 1/12/2014 06:57:00 PM 0 comments
My husband installed the kitchen a couple years back. The people only lived ten miles away so it was an easy trip in the morning to start his work. After tearing out the existing kitchen they found out that the floor was bad underneath and that needed to be replaced also. After getting all the floor fixed with the new tiles installing the kitchen was a breeze including some plastic handles on a utility closet just outside the kitchen.

Buttercup Cheese

Posted by Malou at 1/12/2014 06:47:00 PM 0 comments
I never knew how good cider and doughnuts and cheese went together. We were riding our snowmobile on a trip up North and as we came over a big hill there had to be at least fifty snowmobiles with a tent set up in the middle of nowhere. Everyone gathered around the big bonfire. The table to one side had hot cider, hot doughnuts and some great New York State cheddar cheese that I've never had before. The name of the cheddar cheese was Buttercup Cheese from Central Square New York. I think we will be stopping in there soon.
